Very warm with hazy sunshine today, although continued low to moderate humidity levels will keep the ‘feels like’ temps more tolerable. Air Quality Alert in effect through midnight due to near-surface smoke from distant wildfires reaching levels unhealthy for sensitive groups.

Above normal high temps thru the upcoming work week, however tolerable humidity levels will make it ‘feel’ cooler than the actual air temp, and allow for cooling at night. An uptick in both temps & humidity by next weekend, which may bring the return of hot and sultry conditions.

Ideal day for outdoor activities with dry weather and high temperatures mainly in the mid and upper 70s, along with very low humidity levels. Meanwhile, our rainfall deficit is starting to become more noticeable, with portions of the area now into the "Abnormally Dry" category.

A beautiful weekend is ahead, with warm, sunny days and cool nights. Temperatures will warm a few degrees each day heading into early next week, but humidity will remain low. Note, temperatures on the graphic are for lower elevations, higher terrain will be a few degrees cooler.

Periods of rain will continue today, especially along and south of the Thruway. Temperatures will be much cooler than recent days. Dry weather will return Friday and last through the upcoming weekend, with cool nights and warm, sunny days with low humidity. #nywx

It'll start to turn a bit cooler tonight, then more so on Thursday behind a cold front, with highs mainly in the upper 60s-mid 70s. Showers will also spread across the area (mainly south of Lake Ontario) overnight and linger through Thu morning, before diminishing Thu afternoon.

We're expecting one more very warm day with mostly dry conditions before a cold front moves in. This front will slowly push from north to south across the region between late this afternoon and early Thursday, bringing some showers and a few thunderstorms.

We can expect one more day of very warm and humid weather Wednesday, followed by a return to cooler and much more comfortable weather from Thursday through Sunday. This change in the weather may be marked by some showers and a few thunderstorms later Wednesday night and Thursday.

Other than a small chance for an isolated shower or storm across the Southern Tier this afternoon, it will be dry with very warm and humid conditions again today. A dry and refreshing air mass will move in later this week into the weekend with comfortable temps and low humidity.

[7:45pm] A line of severe thunderstorms over southern Ontario will move towards western and northern NY tonight, but is expected to weaken as it moves into more stable air over our region. Even with the weakening trend, a few storms may contain gusty winds and brief downpours.

A Heat Advisory is in effect for heat indices in the mid to upper 90s for areas south of Lake Ontario, Lower Genesee Valley, and Finger Lakes region. A few strong thunderstorms may enter far western NY tonight, mainly after midnight.

Heat and humidity return on Thursday, with heat index values climbing well into the 90s in many areas. A Heat Advisory is in effect for a portion of the area. You know the drill, take plenty of breaks in the shade/AC, stay hydrated, and never leave children or pets in the car.

There is a Beach Hazards Statement in effect from 11PM Tonight to 11AM Monday for the beaches of Wayne, northern Cayuga, and Oswego counites. Stay out of the water to avoid dangerous swimming conditions.
