If you play in person at an LGS, I totally recommend finding a GLC community and running GLC - affordable, you can use your older cards, and tooonnss of fun. I'm taking a break from going hard on standard by building retro decks, but I also like to play GLC on the side when not playing standard. :)

Everytime I make it to the pokemon center website on these release days, it always gives an error message and forces me back in the queue... Why

As long as Ultra Pro continues to copy and paste default character and Pokemon images, I can't imagine buying their deck boxes or sleeves anytime soon... They should just commission some nice art work for these deckboxes and stuff!
