It isn't a Friday but it is the 13th, so that means today is obligatory F13 watching night
13.10.2025 13:18 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I can't believe my parents watched The Substance without any prompting from me. My mom's final comment on it: "The ending was very...goopy"
13.10.2025 02:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0#133 - The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)
dir. Jim Sherman
Ending the weekend on a fun note!
#horrorsky #nowwatching #31daysofhorror
Witchfinder General is probably the weakest, but it has Vincent Price so he more than makes up for it
13.10.2025 02:02 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I always save Blood on Satan's Claw to do a triple feature of the Unholy Trinity with Witchfinder General and The Wicker Man. Other great watches are Mark of the Devil and Eyes of Fire
13.10.2025 01:56 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0#132 - The Demon of Mount Oe (1960)
dir. Tokuzo Tanaka
First film from the new Daiei Gothic Vol. 2 set by @filmsradiance.bsky.social Hoping for some good, classic Japanese ghosts and swords!

#131 - The Halloween Tree (1993)
dir. Mario Piluso
Following up with another Ray Bradbury story and one of my favorite Halloween animated movies. Even have the VHS of it! I'm just missing a player these days...
#horrorsky #nowwatching #31daysofhalloween
I think the only actual connection is that Halloween (1978) is seen playing on a tv, so that exists as a movie in the universe of Halloween III. It's a whole mood once you take it out from underneath the broader Halloween umbrella though
12.10.2025 17:58 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0What I enjoy the most out of Tobe Hooper's filmography is the onset of terror he was able to invoke. You can really feel the way it surges at the ends of TCM and Eaten Alive, and in Poltergeist and TCM 2 it just never seems to stop once it begins
12.10.2025 17:54 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0#130 - Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983)
dir. Jack Clayton
The hard to find gem of Disney/Ray Bradbury horror. Perfect for a gloomy October Sunday
#horrorsky #nowwatching #31daysofhorror
Ju-On: The Grudge
But also most j-horror on my first watches. Ring and Pulse also tapped into an unknown fear of being unable to escape fate. That stretch of late-90s to early-00s is unbelievably solid and the best way to feel fear again after becoming numb to the slasher meatgrinder
#129 - Eaten Alive (1976)
dir. Tobe Hooper
Backcountry cannibal family aren't enough for you? How about Psycho-esque swamp man and his pet crocodile? Bathed in red light, Texas has never looked more terrifying for the wayward traveler. One of my favorite Hooper films
#horrorsky #nowwatching
And you know what? Decided I want that sweet new @arrowvideo.bsky.social 4K of In The Mouth of Madness too
12.10.2025 14:09 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0#128 - Hellraiser (1987)
dir. Clive Barker
What's your pleasure?
There is such a commanding presence from the Cenobites and a fantastic lead in Kirsty. Don't go poking around ancient Rubik's Cubes if you don't want the whips and chains!
#horrorsky #nowwatching #31daysofhorror
#127 - The Lair of the White Worm (1988)
dir. Ken Russell
Of the two, I prefer this one more. Didn't plan on watching it just yet, but I dozed off after finishing Gothic and this auto-played so here we are
#horrorsky #nowwatching #31daysofhorror
Glad I'm not the only one with Child's Play. Michael, Freddy, and Jason were all fine but something about Chucky just did not sit well
12.10.2025 02:38 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The word is out that a CVS near me has already started to put Christmas stuff up. You know, the holiday that is 2.5 months away still
12.10.2025 02:35 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0#126 - Gothic (1986)
dir. Ken Russell
This one has evaded me for years, but I'm 3 minutes in and already loving how cheesy it is
#horrorsky #nowwatching #31daysofhalloween
Finally bit the bullet and ordered the Ghosts of Mars 4K. All that's left to complete my Carpenter collection is Dark Star, and that has a 4K release coming out in November
12.10.2025 01:46 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 1#125 - Prince of Darkness (1987)
dir. John Carpenter
Normally I watch this with the rest of the Apocalypse Trilogy, but my friend hadn't seen it yet. I think that's worth breaking tradition

#123 - Lake of the Dead (1958)
dir. Kรฅre Bergstrรธm
Even smart people can fall victim to unknown horrors. A relatively quick and fun mystery-like film from Norway
#horrorsky #nowwatching #31daysofhalloween
#122 - Dark Waters (1993)
dir. Mariano Baino
Not to be confused with the equally wet j-horror, Dark Water (of which I'll get to eventually this month), but just as thematically soaked and with a healthy dash of demons and nunsploitation
#horrorsky #nowwatching #folkhorror #31daysofhalloween
#121 - Viy (1967)
dir. Georgi Kropachyov, Konstantin Ershov
This is one of those films where I try to get as many people I know to watch it. There's a healthy dose of comedy, superb folklore, and visuals (especially the third act) that feel unmatched for the 60s
#horrorsky #nowwatching #folkhorror
#120 - Leptirica (1973)
dir. ฤorฤe Kadijeviฤ
Felt like a folk horror day so I've cracked open All The Haunts Be Ours from @severinfilms.bsky.social. There will be more throughout the month, but these films are such a huge basis for so many that come after
#horrorsky #nowwatching #folkhorror
