Patapon 1 was my first rhythm game, but Patapon 2 improves on it so much. I remember being really bad at it at first but I stuck with it and found one of the best action strategy games there is with an art style that hasn't been replicated since. I wish they'd still make new ones.

I've sunk so many hours Pikmin 2. It's one of the only games I've ever considered speed running and made me realize optimisation is fun for my brain.

Final Fantasy 4 is the first game I ever beat on my own. My brother gave up because it was too hard so I picked it up and actually beat it instead.

Pokemon Platinum is what got me to try Pokemon again. It's when I hopped back on that train and never got off.

FTL is the best rogue like I've ever played. Combat is engaging, it's HARD but fun. The first time you get to the final boss it feels unfair, but soon it's easy because you're prepared.

Bowser's Inside Story (the original not the remake) is the peak of M&L combat and humor. SS and PiT are great games, but genuinely this is the peak right here.

Starcraft got me into PC gaming, and woke up the creative in me. Custom maps led into DnD so yeah. Important game right here.

PMD is PMD. It's what kept me going, made me creative. Nothing tops this.

Vesperia is the best RPG I've ever played. (Honorable mention to Symphonia and Blue Dragon) The characters, the world, the combat, the story. Everything is top notch and it's so underrated.

Saw someone else do this and it's always fun to solidify the games that really impacted me.

I was on my hands and knees PRAYING that surf killed man. So many times in that E4 grind where they'd live on 1 HP.

5. Angel - Primeape. 4/10. Good early, really can't do much later. Gets Bulk Up but with no Drain Punch its not great.
6. Sturdy - Starmie. 100/10. The GOAT. As soon as you get access to it you can give it Ice Beam - Thunderbolt - Psychic - Surf. Just a beast as always.

3. Hydra - Ninetales: 8/10. The third of my 'only does one thing' trio. Flamethrower. It can Wil-o-wisp but it misses. A lot.
4. Gretta - Nidoqueen. 6/10. GREAT mid game, falls off late game. Even with Earthquake it barely tanks or does much damage. Move pool sucks.

Now that the main story of FRLG is done, I usually do party member ratings based on how useful they were soooo:
1. Azelia - Venasaur: 7/10. Very good in the early game but falls off towards the mid-game.
2. Fenix - Raichu: 5/10. Always a mid option until later gens with only electric coverage.

Elite 4 team going in! I feel like I'm going to be horribly under leveled but this team is pretty good.

The only annoying thing is how often I'm getting poisoned, paralyzed, and put to sleep. Good Lord does Static and Poison Point proc so much more often even though it doesn't have a higher rate.

I've been enjoying FRLG a lot more than I thought I would. I certainly don't remember EVERYTHING about the region but enough to remember what I need to do next.
