These days it seems like RTX GPUs mop the floor with all but the absolute highest-end mac graphics hardware, but I still see "The Industry" using macs at times so I wonder what they know that I don't.

Yeah, no good answers. Canada has low wages on top of a "meh" exchange rate. Most of the EU is expensive to live in. Lots of places (so I hear) are clamping down on work visas. I still daydream about Australia but for many reasons it's probably not happening in the short term.
