Just got back from Mexico City, with a grandson on spring break. We had a great time, and we were even allowed to return to the US, although our trip inevitably turned into an Ugly American apology tour. We didn’t even have to go to Plan B—applying for asylum in Mexico. My latest column in the Sun:

When Denver Mayor Mike Johnston went to testify before the House Oversight Committee, several GOP members threatened him with arrest. It was a farce. Of course the committee has no real interest in oversight or it wouldn’t refuse to oversee the unelected plutocrat’s nonstop assault on democracy.

Littwin: Made-for-TV ICE raids flopped, except for the fear they created. Which was the point. And fear was the point. It’s hard not to give in to fear, but expecting us to give in holds the key to the Trump/Musk master plan.

The main lesson from failed ICE raids in Colorado is that, no matter how scary they seem, we can’t give into the fear. Because fear is the point — and fear is exactly what they expect from us. My latest column in the Sun:

Littwin: Now that we know RFK Jr.’s top aide asked FDA to ban polio vaccine, isn’t it time for Polis to admit his mistake? When asked, a Polis spokesperson said the governor supports the polio vaccine. But Polis said nothing about his Kennedy endorsement.

You’ve probably heard that RFK Jr’s top aide and fellow anti-vaxxer had recently petitioned the FDA to ban the polio vaccine. I called Jared Polis’ office to see whether the governor was finally reconsidering his support for Kennedy’s craziness. I know you can’t wait to see his non-response:

Littwin: There may be much to learn about the United Healthcare killer, but we should already know he’s no hero Opposing denial of care by corrupt health insurance companies is absolutely called for. Killing the United Healthcare CEO is not.

It is moral and necessary to protest, and to work toward reforming, the corrupt health insurance industry. It is not moral or just to pick one of the industry’s many beneficiaries to kill—or to cheer on the killer. Life is confusing these days, but not that confusing. My latest column in the Sun:
