Green social prescribing improves your mental health - National Academy for Social Prescribing Green social prescribing can significantly reduce peoples anxiety and improve their happiness and life satisfaction, according to the findings from a landmark, 2 year cross government study published

statistically significant improvement in wellbeing for each of the ONS4 wellbeing domains (e.g. happiness increased, life satisfaction increased, feeling life is worthwhile increased and levels of anxiety reduced).

The test and learn programme, which has been extended until March '25, was a £6M cross government initiative with significant investment in its evaluation; and took place across 7 integrated care systems across England. You can read full report here: bit.ly/40yXd6A

Rapidly learning about how nature-based social prescribing (or "Green" social prescribing) has been tested by Government as a way of supporting children, young people, & adults with identified mental health needs. Interestingly they focused on this rather than more universal wellbeing.

It completely ignores that people who draw on care and support can bring ideas to the table too, have skills and ability to change things, contribute ideas and innovations too, not just “share their story” which can too easily feel exploitative (though I know so many truly don’t or want to do that)
