#Randomactsofkindness My son was working outdoors near a King Kong restaurant this morning, doing overtime. They came outside and gave him a small greek salad free! So kind.

It's been a few months now. Only just now getting tomatoes. Beans, peppers did well, mostly. Roots were duds. I've gotten 3 summer squash, no cukes. It's been very hot. Idk if that's why. I found some miracle grow and have started using it with the compost.

Resistance Garden update: 7/5 finished the last of the initial trellising, filled in gaps with cukes and more squash. After a good weeding, we'll interplant with seeds since a lot of tomatoes are up. Peas are done. Gonna fill that tote with two tomatoes, and garlic. Potatoes are almost done.

I have another friend whose fiance, decades back, got the same cancer from asbestos. He committed suicide rather than battle it. I don't know how far along his was. He was only in his 20's. It was so incredibly sad. She never married.

He wants to un-ban asbestos. A few years back, I had a casual friend who was fighting mesothelioma from working in a factory as a teen/young adult. A factory full of asbestos. They didn't know back then that it caused cancer. She moved away. I hope she's alive. She was really nice. 3 young kids.

6/20 #resistancegarden ~80% of what I planted is up and growing well. I'll give the non-starters another few days since we're now getting a massive heatwave and rain. So if they're gonna grow at all, this will be the time.
