I think Arlington had some residents are/were members of MIT's Urban Planning dept? Hopefully there are young people in our community willing to take on the task of figuring out how to preserve the bike path AND provide better public transportation to our town.

Thanks for the clarifiaction about this. In fact both those issues ( slope and population density ) were a problem in LA but were worked around. The bad news for LA is that it didn't attract riders.

Such a raising the tracks and design of stations, etc. I'm just curious if any discussion ever was held in a public forum.

A question about Arlington and the Red-Line extension history. For those living in Arlington at the time, does anyone remember a proposal to extend the Red Line via the middle of Rt. 2? Something similar has been done in other places ( LA for example). Of course the would be practical questions.
