Mate, I spent what felt like a week talking to FedEx this morning. Their (“improved”) AI lady would/could not answer my very simple question, and would not transfer me to a human until I lied to her about why I was calling. I don’t feel bad, and I’m on Team Clegg on this one.

A good friend here in Auckland — a native Kiwi who's as white New Zealand's soccer uniforms — is going to LA for the NZ pool round games. He's determined to come, so I've urged him to only bring a burner phone and take other steps to protect himself. Still worried for him.

My wife frequently comments that the fact that he no longer gives a fuck has made him just so much funnier lately.
