California (or any other Blue State that has re-districted) should not reverse course unless & until Red States pass laws for independent redistricting. Doing otherwise would be like being in a gun standoff, finding out your opponent doesn’t have a fully loaded gun, & unilaterally disarming.

Fair enough. I didn’t think that comment was worth responding to. Even if someone truly believes all that β€œDemocrats love open borders” bullshit, nothing about that could justify the lawless, intentional cruelty of ICE tactics.

You wrote "’proper law enforcement’ as in zip tying children?”

I’m going to try hard not to do what you’ve done, which is to troll & pick a fight where there isn’t one, & ask you a serious question: What in the context of my comment makes you think I would in any way support zip tying children? πŸ™„

More of this, please. Either conduct yourself within the boundaries of the law, Constitution, & proper law enforcement ethics & practice, or be accountable for violating them. We’ve had enough. You’ve been warned, repeatedly, ICE.

WTF? A distinction without a damn difference, Megyn. Seriously, does she think this mitigates anything or makes anything OK?

I had the same reaction. I’m sure Wolff will be asked some tough questions, & will say he was just working a source & establishing trust, but his role & advice to Epstein looks pretty damning. I’d love to hear from journalists about the ethics of Wolfe’s behavior/cultivation of Epstein.

I agree with your β€œIt’s Bond, mate” sentiment. Do what they did with Craig, when he became Bond: Just remake one of the old movies. Pick one that best sets up where you want to go with the franchise in the future, & get on with it. That was just the end for *that* iteration of Bond.

JFC. Whatever the argument was against SCOTUS reform before, this Court is practically BEGGING for it with their partisan insistence on propping up Trump positions (regardless of whether it is consistent w/precedent or prior pronouncements in previous administrations) practically EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I’ve seen dozens of people suggest this. Many suggest Pete Buttigieg, sometimes AOC. It really doesn’t matter (probably should be rotating - the last thing the DNC needs is accusations it’s putting a finger on the scale for anybody). I don’t think there’s anything stopping them. It’s a good idea.

There can’t be a plan because the numbers can’t be real. Trump simultaneously claims he can rebate $2000 to (presumably each of the 150M+) taxpayers AND substantially reduce the deficit with tariff revenues, but there is no money to refund at all if DOJ loses the SCOTUS tariff case.

Good advice, but these days the β€œat your level” qualifier isn’t really needed. Computing power & AI analysis will spot odd betting patterns at ANY level. It’s a huge risk of exposure to any participant, player or bettor.

I suspect it won’t be long before the UK stops sharing intelligence of ANY kind with the Trump Administration. Along with most of the rest of the world we used to call allies.

Both, probably. It has always been there to an extent, but legalized gambling multiplies the temptations (& temptresses). AI & massive computing patterns also allow regulators to quickly spot & investigate odd betting patterns. But it still surprises me how players will risk million$ for thousand$.

Yeah, but it sure does help to identify who you should never date or socialize with. That face is like the red hat for the debutante crowd.

Chart of the Week: The most liberal and conservative big cities Big cities in the U.S. tend toward the liberal side of the political spectrum, even when they're within conservative states (residents of Austin sometimes

There are 11 American cities of more than 250,000 people that lean conservative. They are Mesa AZ, Oklahoma City OK, Virginia Beach VA, Colorado Springs CO, Jacksonville FL, Arlington TX, Anaheim CA, Omaha NE, Tulsa OK, Aurora CO, & (barely) Anchorage AK. Not exactly hotbeds for liberal migration.

You would think by now *somebody* in the White House would have learned how to apply his make-up so it doesn’t look like an amateur Al Jolson Halloween costume.

The problem with the β€œif they vote for what we put in front of them, *then* we’ll make a deal with them” is that Congressional Republicans are NOT good faith actors who can be trusted, & the president feels ZERO need to do anything Congress says, or spend funds as they’ve been appropriated.

It’s going to be close, for sure. I have to say I’m honestly shocked, though, by how much ground Harrell has seemingly made up since the primary.

Waiting for the reporter to say: β€œI’ll take that as acknowledgment that there is no evidence to support that claim.”

β€œFacts” are capable of being proved, with evidence. They are *not* facts unless they have been, even. This claim never has been, & never will be, at any kind of level that could swing an election, or anything close to that.

Agreed. It was that good because John Candy was that good. His kindness & humanity (as well as his humor, of course) just oozed out in that documentary.

The fact that he is even floating the idea, to me, is a violation of his Oath, & impeachable. Among dozens& dozens of other equally impeachable misconduct. About which we all know Congress will do absolutely nothing.
