Btw they are also bombing the homes of the main opposition leaders in Iran- because they don’t want a stable transition to a new government

Underrated just how much the US and Israel have been desecrating the very idea of diplomatic engagement by doing these obvious bait and switches.

This is the third time now that negotiations were used as cover to prepare for a war already decided. The lesson is to never speak to the US.

Here's What We Know We know that this is not about Iran’s people, it’s about Iran’s oil and wealth.

Here’s what we know: this isn’t about Iran’s people—it’s about oil, wealth, and power.

@emanabdelhadi.bsky.social lays out why this war has no mandate (and why de-escalation is the only way forward).

What "it's a distraction" people fundamentally need to understand about fascism is that fascism's entire mode of operation is diverting popular anger/anxiety/despair into channels of violence against the Other (both internal and external).

It's not flailing, it's the whole strategy.

Book cover for Everything for Everyone: An Oral History of the New York Commune, 2052-2072 by M. E. O'Brien and Eman Abdelhadi (Common Notions). By the middle of the twenty-first century, war, famine, economic collapse, and climate catastrophe had toppled the world's governments. In the 2050s, the insurrections reached the nerve center of global capitalism—New York City. This book, a collection of interviews with the people who made the revolution, was published to mark the twentieth anniversary of the New York Commune, a radically new social order forged in the ashes of capitalist collapse. https://www.commonnotions.org/everything-for-everyone

Update: the play's writer responded, explaining the play is intended for white & Jewish audiences. I asked why I was invited & she replied - "We are reaching beyond the normal theater-going public, which is why we contacted you."

LOL.

Her name is Francesca Root-Dodson.

Hello. If your play calls what's happening in Gaza a “conflict” & a “war”, centers the story of two white people’s marriage "torn apart after Oct 7" to do it & involves no Palestinians in “the team” in the process please stay the fuck out of my inbox with your complimentary tickets. Thank you.

Hundreds of individuals detained by ICE, CBP in Chicago to be released after judge's ruling ‘Independence Day’ will be any time before Friday for hundreds of Chicago and Midwestern immigrants who were arrested and detained by U.S. law enforcement.

Excellent news for hundreds of our community members. We will never forget the millions they spent terrorizing our city to ultimately illegally kidnap our neighbors.

Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari of Arizona’s 3rd District describes the “horrific conditions” she witnessed inside the Eloy ICE Detention Center near Phoenix — including a leukemia patient “vomiting blood,” detained in February and forced to wait eight months before finally seeing an oncologist.

Ansari details how private prison giants CoreCivic and The GEO Group are “making billions” as detainees are denied water, medical care, and dignity. “What happens inside these for-profit prisons is how the world sees us now,” she warns — so “authoritarian regimes can point to America and say democracy is a façade.”
