It’s a process to make a home and find our people and build ways of living that we are not necessary inclined to. Especially when we have to do that multiple times over without a lot of stability!

For me it’s sort of the opposite (living in a big urban place when I am, at heart, a semi-recluse who is perpetually overstimulated in a city and would prefer to live in the woods or a very small town), but I get the feeling. Academia involves a lot of displacement from place/community.
