We started today with a wonderful talk on how cordyceps fungus generates zombie ants. Then on to modelling, egg laying timing & brood number, white clover in rural and urban environments, young active SINEs in Italian sparrow, TE content in ferns

Parhyale (the #amphipod) has a 12.4 hour tidal cycle in the lab, tidal clock genes that play a role have been found - these genes are expressed in dorsal-lateral brain cells #sciart

Hi! I'm a PhD student working on deep sea amphipods and I create art based on my research. This is my amphipod mascot who helps explain my research in presentations!

Stoked this is published! Collect feathers > chop into tiny pieces > set them on fire > measure the gasses. Now just need to learn multi-isotope isoscapes.

Temperature levels in the North Sea create stratified plankton blooms, 25-40m below the surface. Internal ocean waves catapult deeper living fish upwards to sea birds BUT, wind turbines mix water more, reducing the spring plankton bloom
