Every alley was jam packed! I sometimes had to wait in line just to get into a garage!

I picked up this Nike Dri-Fit Illini ball cap for $3. A little dusty, but it cleaned up great!

The whole point of studying literature (English or not) is that it teaches you how to read between the lines, find the subtext, find what’s not being said, call it out and argue with it.

In other words, media literacy.

Miss Clingy McClingsalot got plenty of lap time in the sun this morning.

Monday’s #OOTD is honestly just comfortable after a lovely but exhausting weekend with my family. The kitties are relieved that I’m home, and I’m relieved that the sun is shining with an expected high of 67°.

I was very amused, however, by my mother grumping with exasperation that she’s “never even HEARD of Arcade Fire!” 😂

I keep thinking about the likelihood that he has nieces and nephews rolling around in Chicago using “My uncle is the pope” as a pickup line.

Today’s #ootd is ready for my niece’s track sectional. Yellow for her school colors, and layers because we expected the day to start off cool before warming up. She qualified for state with one of her relays!

I have gone from knowing next to nothing about fashion to passing a mom on the street and instantly recognizing the brand and style of her trench-coat in a fairly short period of time, and I’ve got to admit, this level of awareness is very weird.

I think the last 24 hours have been my favorite on the Internet ever.

I buy cherries when they’re in season, which does add the step of pitting them, but I have a nice little cherry pitter that makes it fast and easy. The yellow berries are cape gooseberries, which my local store always has stocked, often cheaper than blackberries and blueberries.

I do make my own turkey sausage, but I do it in batches so that I’m just pulling out a frozen single in the morning. Thirty seconds in the microwave is perfect. Also, turkey sausage is so stupid easy to make that I’m willing to do it on a weeknight.

Josie did get her breakfast lap time, as always.

Breakfast prep. It always looks elaborate, but it’s easy: I nuke a frozen sausage patty, the pancakes are a just-add-water box mix with a 1/2 tsp matcha powder mixed in, and I throw handfuls of berries on the plate. Ta da.
