Hard agree on this thread on SNW & Spock's sexuality. A pity in light of TOS and a long history of fan reception. Tbh I expected way more from this spin-off of Discovery, which did a lot for queer representation in Trek. I quite like SNW but these forced het-romance storylines don't work for me

I don't want to sugarcoat anything but it bears acknowledging loudly that day in & day out, despite literally everything, scholars keep researching, writing, & publishing work that, in ways big & small, implicit & explicit, via its sheer existence, is a defiant F U to the current administration.

My first experience with Trek was as a kid. I remember Elementary, Dear Data especially! This was my first introduction to Sherlock Holmes and perhaps to Star Trek. I really fell in love with the SF/F genre and detectives. It was the perfect episode to watch at a young age, I think 🖖💜

Thanks to Jonathan Clements I now know that Peppa Pig was banned for a year in China for her gangland associations after Chinese gangsters were observed to have a penchant for Peppa Pig tattoos. Scholarship is wonderful!
