Agreed, but those are very different things. Where the story they were trying to show off wasn't already existing. If you read the homestuck comic you have very little idea of what it's going to be about for a while.

i feel like hes a better character if he goes on his long over the top metaphors during serious scenes if hes talking more slowly.
anyway i loved how he was animated and constantly messing with the border and stuff. that felt on point.

the homestuck pilot should have started with "NOT WRITTEN BY VIVZIEPOP" in big flashing letters at the start. would save a lot of time

its less the voice, more the writing and how fast he talks. he feels like he should be more deadpan rather than hyperactive. more chill. i like the voice, the characterization felt off though. where the other's personalities felt pretty on point.

chris o neil in homestuck nearly killed me

they were only allowed 11 minutes to work with. which was not ideal. and yeah, the trolls appearing was purely for fanservice, but it sorta had to show them since they are such a core component of the story.

I think it works as a pilot. Not as a first episode, a lot of shows do turn the pilot into the first episode. And if they did that for this show it would be a very bad first episode. As a 11 minute pilot to show off what they could do with the material, I think it works.

it was actually good though. at being a pilot. aside from dave. dave was just such a shock to the system i have no idea how i feel about it
