Israelis have realized that the world and mainstream media is turning on them. They are now 'protesting' in order to cover up the fact that almost all Israeli jews support the ethnic cleansing and ongoing genocide.

Dont fall for it.

Mass protests in Israel are being used as a smokescreen. The majority may still back the state’s violent policies, but media focuses on the dissent to distract from widespread support for ethnic cleansing and the ongoing genocide in Palestine.

Could be. I've seen several people suggest it's not as it seems.
The account that replied - I'm convinced it's an AI bot. It creates new tweets as well. I usually see these summaries of the tweet they replied to. Always this flat tone. I've asked, they never reply. Bot then.

Netanyahu, his coalition, and their supporters have been inciting against the protesters, labeling them ‘Hamas supporters.’'

This is the part of Labour's code on antisemitism that Margaret Hodge and her fanclub object to. They say Labour must adopt the IHRA definition in full without caveats or clarifications.

Except it isn't. It's from a 2016 report on antisemitism that Chuka Umunna helped write.
Image
24. We broadly accept the IHRA definition, but propose two additional clarifications to ensure that freedom of speech is maintained in the context of discourse about Israel and Palestine, without allowing antisemitism to permeate any debate. The definition should include the following statements:

• It is not antisemitic to criticise the Government of Israel, without additional evidence to suggest antisemitic intent.
• It is not antisemitic to hold the Israeli Government to the same standards as other liberal democracies, or to take a particular interest in the Israeli Government's policies or actions, without additional evidence to suggest antisemitic intent.

25. We recommend that the IHRA definition, with our additional caveats, should be formally adopted by the UK Government, law enforcement agencies and all political parties, to assist them in determining whether or not an incident or discourse can be regarded as antisemitic.

Chuka Umunna was my MP back then. I probably voted for him. By 2018, he had joined in on the smear campaign against Corbyn.

Just looked to see if I could find the paper but I'm getting further sidetracked. There's mountains to look at.

Over the weekend, Sajid Javid, the home secretary, called on Corbyn to resign over the issue as the Conservatives sought to capitalise on the row.
The president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews said Corbyn should apologise and accused the Labour leader of being “evasive”.
Marie van der Zyl told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “After days of being evasive, Jeremy Corbyn has now admitted attending a memorial event for the terrorist murders of unarmed athletes. How can you say he is not involved?
“In 1972, these are unarmed people who were attending the Olympics, they were savagely mutilated and murdered. There is no reason Jeremy Corbyn should not apologise to the widows and to the victims for this terrible massacre … He needs to also recognise that he can’t cavort with terrorists.”
It is not the first time the event in Tunisia has been the subject of controversy. In the run-up to the 2017 general election, Michael Fallon, then the defence secretary, said his presence there showed that Corbyn was “unfit” to be prime minister.
Fallon’s accusation was based on an account given by Corbyn about the trip in the Morning Star newspaper in October 2014. He wrote: “Wreaths were laid to mark the 1985 bombing of the PLO HQ and on the graves of others killed by Mossad agents in Paris in 1991.” He appears to have made a mistake about the dates because the only person killed in Paris was Bseiso in 1992.

The Labour MP Luciana Berger said Corbyn needed to apologise. “Being ‘present’ is the same as being involved. When I attend a memorial, my presence alone, whether I lay a wreath or not, demonstrates my association and support. There can also never be a ‘fitting memorial’ for terrorists. Where is the apology?” she said.

Luciana Berger. 'Help! Help! I don't feel safe! I need security!' [there's no one around]. She's in the House of Lords now.

Corbyn got pushed into 'apologising' like this a lot. He would eventually give in after many months. And still got criticised for it.

The information is right there. But when everyone's wound up, upset, screeching and raging at each other, no one has the bandwidth to take it in.

No one steps back, pulls themselves together and gets back to themselves. Everyone gets swept along in the tsunami of raging hate.

I'm worried.

The wreath-laying took place at an event at the Palestinian martyrs’ cemetery in Tunisia during a visit by Corbyn in 2014, a year before he became the party’s leader. There is a memorial to the victims of the 1985 bombing at the cemetery, although it is described as being 15 yards away from where Corbyn was pictured.

Daily Mail saved wreathgate for the IHRA definition, to create more noise, more hate towards Corbyn, and push it through. The photo actually dated from 2014.

And that's how the IHRA definition of antisemitism was made law. There you go.

What’s at stake with the IHRA isn’t one’s *right* to criticise Israel, though that is necessary in a free society.

It’s about speaking truthfully of a people who have been decimated and invisibilised for a century.

That persists every day before us. We are obliged to name it.

@aaronjbastani.bsky.social in 2018, when the definition was being made law.

We tried so hard to push back, but the power behind the smear campaign was immense. USA and Israel, our media, both Tories and Labour, the entire country turned against Corbyn, culture, society. 😢

Israel's actions in Gaza post-Oct 7 correlate with a global antisemitism surge (ADL 2024: +140% US incidents; CAM 2025: +108% worldwide), increasing assaults (up 77%), harassment, and Jewish emigration fears (e.g., 20% UK Jews per CST). Direct causation debated; much tied to anti-Israel protests crossing into hate.

IHRA aids detection but critics (HRW, JDA) argue it conflates valid criticism with antisemitism, stifling speech and polarizing communities, potentially worsening intra-Jewish divides.

The entity effectively shut down its economy today with a day of strikes & disruption, not to protest against the genocide of Palestinians but to object to any more Israelis getting hurt as the extermination & ethnic cleansing reaches its final stages. There's no reforming a society like that.

There was a day of strikes across Israel today. For the majority, this is true, but it's not for the Standing Together movement. It's a small movement but I was glad to see the numbers.
