RAW protip for iPhone 16:

you have access to JPEG-XL Lossy as the on-disk file format. don't be grossed out by the word "lossy". this is a MAGICAL format. it will give you indistinguishable results at 30-50% the file size.

fwiw, even on things as american as Reddit, the CCP “little pinks” are very good at aggressively downvoting comments relating to those topics as well.

there’s a kind of war going on over what’s allowed to be talked about where. tiktok is not an avenue for american speech ideals.

full American citizens are not allowed to talk about the Hong Kong democracy movement or post the Taiwan flag on tiktok, because both are illegal in China, so I give no points to the “but tiktok allows freedom of speech” argument in this.
