I read it years ago and had forgotten a lot of it. Picked it up last month to reread and was disturbed. Then I started the sequel, "Parable of the Talents," which I've never read. I'm pretty sure Octavia Butler actually used a time machine because it's TERRIFYINGLY close to today's news. 😬

There are 8 teenagers in my kitchen right now. They're making a cake and a poster and planning a surprise party for a teacher who is retiring at the end of the year.

I'm a follower 95% of the time. I knit to relax so hand me a project with all of the materials and don't make me think too much. Though I'm experienced enough to call an audible when my inner knitter realizes a pattern is wrong/bad/doing it the hard way.
