I intentionally didn’t talk about One accidentally killing Three while wanting to hurt her and the others’ terrible response to that. Because that’s a while other can of worms that will take another thread of equal length, and I need to get back to looking at UK universities,

Back to my point though. I think One perceives the way she is treated as more intentional than it is. But I also think the way she’s treated is wrong, even if it is unintentional. I think it’s disingenuous to pretend her outburst came out of nowhere, or that her isolation is solely her own fault,

We get a small example of this earlier in the episode, where she sends both Zero and Fourteen back to Fifteen’s shack because they “can’t behave”. Very reminiscent of how teachers punish victims for being bullied in the service of “fairness”. How is it fair to punish Zero for being attacked? —>

For a while, for being justifiably upset. Ironically, by trying to send her away, she’s telling One to do the very thing that caused her to get so upset in the first place: be alone. Sidenote: Three is not anywhere close to as good at handling conflict as they think they are. —>

This is technically true, but when Three says this, she means it will make their lives easier. What One hears is that it will help them all get even closer to each other without her, which she already witnessed earlier on. This is further confirmed for her when Three tries to send her away —>
