The vaccines were rush jobs BUT they were variants of vaccines we knew were *generally* safe to use. It was a least-worst-case solution to a global burning issue.

The info, such as was available at the time, WAS out there if anyone bothered to look. *Long* term effects by their very nature can only be studied by looking *back*. If we'd waited for those, it'd have been like letting the house burn down while we carry out a long-term risk assessment.

Same applies. NOTHING is risk free. Too many variables. Anything, especially stuff you put inside your body, will only ever be 'mostly safe for most people'.

Sheesh… NOTHING in life is risk free. Not even a cup of coffee (you could choke) or walking down the pavement (you could get hit by a roof tile). Even seat belts aren't risk free (there's a tiny number of people who die when their car is submerged and they can't get out of the belt fast enough).
