I happened to be watching an episode of Cheers when George Wendt's death was first announced. Likewise, I was also watching Quantum Leap back when Dean Stockwell died. As an act of public service I am now currently watching Gavin and Stacey

The only other show I can think of that does this is Cheers. It was one of those little details that made it feel so much more relatable and immersive (that and the fact that most of the characters were repressed, hopeless alcoholics with no life outside of the bar)
