I’ve been off social media for nearly a week because irl has been kicking my butt lately, but just logged into Twitter, and it just made me really sad. I wish our little (ok, big) corner of that app hadn’t spiraled into what it has. Anyway. Bluesky has improved again and my tl here seems…peaceful💜

Gotta say, Bluesky has improved a lot since the beta test stage, in features/function and content viewing/tl. It was just crickets over here on BTS and ARMY stuff back then😔 Rly good we can now post gifs (couldn’t back then), but still no vids is still a big downside (also no official BTS accounts💔)

If at least BHM opened true accts it prob wld help a bit to encourage ARMY to come & build community here too. But twt is still the ‘online core’ of ARMY (where getting things done/info/translations/movements etc, start. It’s been our home forever, mostly bc BTS for yrs used to be so active there …

It *is* peaceful here, but the ARMY tl is still too quiet, though much better than it was a year ago 😅

I should also add, as far as I know, nothing’s ever been confirmed so it’s not clear/actually known whether under BTS’ current contract its term suspends during their military service (suspension during enlistment can be/is a standard term). Their early renewal now kinda suggests it might not, but 🤷‍♀️

Bear in mind financial analysts right now are basically just making educated guesses: on renewal term (5yrs is a standard term so it’s based on that), and on any money amounts involved. They’re guessing to figure out advice to give re share value etc.

Also, right now we don’t know how long the renewal term will be for, and we also don’t know (and may, or may not, later learn) what abt the renewal contract required a BoD resolution to approve. Because that part is unusual & suggests something about the new contract’s terms (favorable to artists) +

their view was that their renewed contract was *the most exemplary one in the industry* — which then means it *wasn’t* standard form/terms, but was modified, specifically. No one would expect BTS’ second renewal in 2023 to be standard either (esp not with that currently mysterious Board resolution)+

BTS have access to that info, AND MORE INFO we never will see.
While the contract title/subtitle in the pic Joon shared on his IG story refers to the contract being based on the standard form it doesn’t mean it *is* the unmodified standard form. As BH & BTS said in 2019, when they renewed in 2018 +

“Upon the conclusion of last year's contract renewal as well, the company and BTS acknowledged each other to have equal partnership. +

consultation on differences was not the same as actual disagreement:
“At the same time, we are aware of our important partnership with BTS and although mutual differences can arise at any time, we are working through them regardless of the importance through active consultation” +

Generally, industry knows contract terms on renewal are much more favorable to artists than first contracts, as artists are established and have leverage from past success (I believe even the unmodified standard form contract for artists on renewal changes the balance of profit splits) +
