I’ve done it! I’ve entered β€œGone But Not Forgotten” into SFINCS3! Good luck, Bill and Mere.

Can anyone recommend Halloween events happening this year, preferably in the North-west of England or Wales?

We went to the Halloween Family Festival at Muncaster Castle last year.

This week I became a member of the Society of Authors societyofauthors.org/soa-member/j...

Also, today I had some very exciting news relating to the horror fiction podcast to which I’ve contributed two stories so far. More details when I have them…

New sketchbook! New sketch. I think my use of watercolors is improving.

I've read most of Auster's stuff over the years and loved most of it, Moon Palace, The Music of Chance and Leviathan, especially. I struggled with his later work, like The Brooklyn Follies and Travels in the Scriptorium. I'm still halfway through Timbuktu, but I like it.

Do you like it? I gave up tbh, it didn't grab me like the original book. I'm a fan of Mazzucchelli's art for Daredevil and Batman, but I wasn't keen on the way he developed what felt like a self-consciously arty style.

Great book. I'll read anything about 70s / 80s Liverpool.

I text the campsite warden and have the child safely collected and taken back to their parents, then get back to the business of skinning alive the man in the next tent to mine who was playing his transistor radio too loud.

Care home. My WIP β€˜Bit Parts’ is set in one. It’s about a faded horror film star failing to be recognised by the other residents. So he decides to reenact a famous scene from one of his films, with hilariously gruesome consequences.

RIP Martin Cruz Smith. His Arkady Renko novels were brilliant, he was pastiched by Michael Chabon, and he wrote one of the best novels ever set in Wigan.

Good question. I don't know if they're retiring the modern DC logo and returning to the circular version. They're certainly bringing back Vertigo. I really fancy rereading The Horrorist.
