Right? I'm sure he was happy regardless of the purchase... if you do ever get a chance to see him live, please do--he gathers everybody's requests from social media a couple days prior and then just plays everybody's requests one after another. It's awesome.

He seems like a genuinely interesting dude.

I think Roger Daltrey's a super talented performer with an incredible voice, but there's just something off-putting about him to me. I think it's his intensity; I didn't develop an appreciation for artists yelling at me until Rage Against the Machine. (And now I'm gonna have to listen to them...)

There are a lot of beautiful lyrics--yeah, a lot of really weird shit, some of Robyn's weirdest--on this album, but my favorite of this whole thing:

"Something Shakespeare never said was 'You've got to be kidding'."

That makes me smile every time I hear it.

Jeff liked to play bass; not in a band, just fucking around playing along with his favorite music (including this album). In school he'd dance around me playing air-bass and shouting "Face the Face" while gleefully violating my personal space. That's always gonna be his song in my mind.

I do think Mississippi is ~12% of the reason I don't drink now.

I was there for tech training (computer communications), and every day in class I'd look at Airman Humes and whisper "beers" and he'd look at me bleary-eyed and hung over and mouth "NOOOOO!" but by the end of the day he'd come around to my way of thinking. I wonder how he feels about Mississippi.

Kiwi, just because YOU had trauma there doesn't mean we ALL hate Mississippi; I have fond memories of drinking 3.2 beer at the Tiger's Den or Cafe Vandenberg and then puking in the bushes outside of the base movie theater whilst Airman Bodamer wandered off from the group in his own drunken stupor.

Note that when we adopted her a year+ ago she was sent to a local shelter from Mississippi after one of the big storms ripped through, and yet when I try to bond with her over tales of my being stationed in Biloxi for 13 weeks she acts like she doesn't give a fuck.

Every evening lil Kiwi needs her wind-down time. She doesn't want me to pet her, she doesn't want me to talk to her, she doesn't even want me to look at her. She just wants me to sit next to her and watch TV while she holds hands and chills.
