It should take at least 8 months from theatrical release day to be able to stream something. Maybe longer.

Is the Mac App Store 5.0 held up in review? Or is it a different download? I’ve been checking for updates occasionally and still haven’t seen it.

Designer: all right Mr. Del Toro here’s those Frankenstein’s monster designs, real sexy just like you asked for.
Del Toro: (nodding) this is exactly as sexy as I asked for.

Big week for confirming the theory that after 2017 Disney instituted a strict β€œno more good directors” policy when it comes to Star Wars features.

Rian Johnson's next film draws from '70s political thrillers' – with a 'light sci-fi element' The director of The Last Jedi and the Knives Out trilogy is making something brand new after Wake Up Dead Man. Read more at Empire.

"That cog will be turning the rest of my life. I love Star Wars," he says. "And if some day it makes sense to come back to it, for both of us, it would be the most wonderful thing in the world."

Between the sterile new squad room and the cast shuffle, that season feels laden with network notes. I wonder if doing such a β€œtopical” episode was NBC’s idea too.

I’m hardly an expert on these things but I bet $120 Million would be considered less of a β€˜gamble’ if the movie was allowed to play in theaters for longer than 6 days or whatever. πŸ€”

you don't understand. as someone who isn't inherently good at art, stealing paintings from the museum is the *only* way i'm able to express myself creatively. i wouldn't be able to paint beautiful portraits. but by breaking into a museum and stealing the paintings, now i am

Embarrassed to say I slept on @realgdt.bsky.social’s Cabinet of Curiosities when it came out, but we’re watching now - and holy fuck?

Last night was The Autopsy with F. Murray Abraham, and it’s a fucking *masterpiece*.

Absolutely queue it up if you’re looking for some solid horror filmmaking!

I’ll say it again, and as many times as I have to:

There is no such thing as β€œAI art”.

Typing a prompt into an AI model and having it spit out a mathematical average approximating what you described is not creation. It’s just not.

AI is not β€œa tool” it’s just a fancy Xerox machine.

I’ve been following and reading a lot of tech writers for years, mostly the ones who cover Apple stuff. It’s been exceptionally disappointing to see how in the bag for AI shit they are, but I suppose it shouldn’t be very surprising. daringfireball.net/linked/2025/...

All of this "Write as if nighttime lightning has guided you to earth's last remaining inkwell" stuff...honey, no. Sit down at your desk or laptop or whatever. Lower the stakes. Try something. Nobody's looking. The goal is to just get it down so that you have something you can fix.
