We are a coalition of Long Island groups and people wanting to end the public/private model that our electric utility currently uses and have LIPA be fully public, which will allow the utility to prioritize ratepayers instead of shareholder profits.
If this sounds as wrong to you as it does to us, please consider joining our efforts to end the failed public-private partnership model that puts PSEG profits ahead of taking care of ratepayers.
18.07.2025 03:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So letβs see if we got this right: PSEG gets an additional $15 million in bonus pay, on the dime of Long Island and Rockaways ratepayers, for missing 51% of their performance metrics? And Governor Hochul, in the midst of crying poverty, is just allowing this to happen?β¦.
18.07.2025 03:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0To add, PSEG didnβt just have multiple performance failures, but they repeatedly obfuscated, both to the LIPA board and to the public, the extent of their failures and their patchwork and unsatisfactory attempts to repair their mismanagement.

βUltimately, we want to see the end of the public-private partnership and the start of a fully public LIPA as laid out in the LIPA Public Power Act. But if there is a better deal for Long Island & Rockaway ratepayers fromβ¦
We will include the latest updates from the LIPA Board of Trustees meeting held the previous day. We expect to hear who has won the contract to be the service provider for the next 10 years.

24.03.2025 20:00 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Drew spoke for most of the people who are served by LIPA. He was critical of the whole concept of another company running our public electric utility.
He was critical of the current service provider that met only 54% of the service standards required in their contract. Shouldnβt we expect more?
We are reeling from the resignation of LIPA trustee Drew Biondo. He said it was due to the pressure applied during the process of choosing the next service provider. He will be missed as he was the only independent voice on the Board! Read more here: publicpowerlipa.org/trusted-trus...
