Did this from Locust Point to Fells Point last week (before biking over to Camden Yards). It was great - canβt beat the views on the water.
28.08.2025 03:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The Trump administration is wasting no time in implementing the big, ugly budget billβs worst provisions. From gutting clean energy to propping up the coal industry, here are some of the harmful changes the Department of the Interior is making: earthjusticeaction.org/news/trumps-...
19.08.2025 17:30 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0For most of the last decade, our media and political class has panicked over the idea that progressives were intruding on free speech rights by loudly criticizing people with unpopular views.
Anyway, here's far-right federal paramilitaries advertising that they'll rip down pro-immigrant messages.
Thanks for your coverage as always. Tough night in Nashville for the few of us who made the journey. Changes have to be made.
10.07.2025 04:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What if a forest closed without warning? That's the fear for #Patuxent Research Refuge, where #RachelCarson discovered the harms of DDT. Part of it is opens one day a week. Only five staffers monitor the entire 12,000 acres. #Trumpcuts @sejorg.bsky.social

And then the playoffs, right? π

Any hope that D.C gets quality reinforcements (e.g. a #10 DP) this window?
Ensor Street
A 58 year old man biking in the 900 block of Ensor St was killed by the driver of a car this evening. If you have any information on this crash, please contact BPD and Bikemore.
Ensor St is a six lane arterial, and was supposed to have a separated bike lane installed by 2021.
Ahead of the House vote on the Nasty Ugly Bill, I rallied my colleagues and advocates to make it clear that we do not work for billionaire bosses, Kristi Noem, or wanna be kings. We are voting HELL NO on a bill that harms children, women, immigrants, and all working people.

Republicans' Big Ugly Bill will gut clean energy, jack up energy costs, and kill good jobs -- all to fund massive tax breaks for billionaires.
Our team and partners were on the Hill to support @housedemocrats.bsky.social leading the charge to defend our communities and oppose this bill. #VoteNo
Coal pollution has poisoned the DineΜ and other Tribal communities for decades. Now the Trump administration and their allies in Congress are pushing a bill that expands mining and short-circuits environmental reviews. This must be stopped.

βFor abundance to be a useful framework for transportation policyβ¦. externalities must be taken into consideration. That doesnβt always happen in abundance discourse, and it shows.β π―

is this project site worth risking this species' extinction?
We came down from Baltimore to see a DC United win in person tonight!
Very big thanks to Dave Johnson for the tickets! #ItsInTheNet
While this Court enjoys the power to choose which cases it will hear, its decision to shuffle this case off our docket without a full airing is a grievous mistakeβone with consequences that threaten to reverberate for generations. Just imagine if the government sought to demolish a historic cathedral on so questionable a chain of legal reasoning. I have no doubt that we would find that case worth our time. Faced with the governmentβs plan to destroy an ancient site of tribal worship, we owe the Apaches no less. They may live far from Washington, D. C., and their history and religious practices may be unfamiliar to many. But that should make no difference. βPopular religious views are easy enough to defend. It is in protecting unpopular religious beliefs that we prove this countryβs commitment to . . . religious freedom.β Masterpiece Cakeshop, Ltd. v. Colorado Civil Rights Commβn, 584 U. S. 617, 649 (2018) (GORSUCH, J., concurring).
Gorsuch suggests that the Supreme Court is effectively discriminating against Native faiths and favoring mainstream religions by allowing the government to destroy a sacred Native site. (I certainly agree that SCOTUS tends to favor Christianity over all else!) www.supremecourt.gov/orders/court...
27.05.2025 13:37 β π 1127 π 185 π¬ 23 π 27It was great to spend the afternoon with broadcasting legend Dave Johnson, DC United reps, and a couple dozen Baltimore soccer fanatics talking DCU, 2026 World Cup, and Baltimore soccer history.

Lovely piece that perfectly encapsulated my experience at tonightβs game - my first at Audi in 2+ years. What a thriller out of nowhere!
Thanks for the wonderful reporting, per usual.
Itβs week 3 of standing on Capitol Hill and calling out the attacks on our environment, health, and communities in Republicansβ reconciliation bill. This monstrosity of a bill could get a vote TONIGHT.
Big thanks to @rephuffman.bsky.social for joining us today & leading the fight.
Cato has published my comprehensive review of the ~240 Venezuelans the US government renditioned 2 months ago to Salvadorβs notorious prison. We identified FIFTY who came legally, never violated any immigration law, but are imprisoned at the US governmentβs request and at US taxpayer expense.
