John Shin, a well known and respected violinist from South Korea, who received Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the University of Utah for violin performance, was detained by ICE.

John Shin has been a violinist and teaches students in Utah.

He is being detained in Colorado.

Yesterday I posted the 27 grievances from the Declaration of Independence. Didn’t take long for someone to think I was talking about T. and responded with an argument defending ICE. Makes you wonder. #history #declarationofindependence #birthofanation

I know that reading definitely impacted my ability to empathize. That is a good thing.

This resonates with me. I was just talking with my son about why I am so different than my siblings in some ways and I think in large part it’s because of my voracious reading - and later traveling.

Took my 87-year old Mom to see a play at The Playmill Theatre in West Yellowstone, Mt. It’s a labor of love getting her there, but worth it. She really enjoyed the show.
