Magnolia is truly a masterpiece. Phantom Thread made me think about sacrifice and compromise in relationships. DDL does not overact, and Vicky Krieps is my Lëtzebuergesch heroine.

Leo? I’m glad he finally got the Oscar for Iñárritu’s The Revenant because his work with Scorsese was always so over the top, especially Killers of the Flower Moon.
I will say this about PTA: His three-hour films fly by. I’ve seen Magnolia so many times! Never aware of the running time.

PTA directed two of my all-time favorites: Magnolia and Phantom Thread. I’ve never been too crazy about his other acclaimed works, like There Will Be Blood (so histrionic) and The Master (so self-absorbed).
