The conservative 180 on Rowling will never not be funny. That Pastor Greg guy (Locke or Abbott, who cares?) was burning HP merch as recently as 2021 and those "read a different book" Soyjak memes were probably posted more times on /pol/ than the Happy Merchant. Now they love her.

When I was a kid buying up those Russ Cochran reprints in quarter bins, I was surprised to learn that he was making appearances in his own comics even in the pre-Mad horror days, often alongside Feldstein. You can't ever say he took all the glory.

That's not even tempting fate, that's dropping trou and painting a target.

The sad part is a huge chunk of the people who did this also whined about Bernie Bros doing the same in 2016. Don't get me wrong, both approaches got us into the mess we're in, but fuck, after almost a solid decade you'd think some people would learn from other's mistakes if not their own.

Silly as I think the Mandela Effect theory is, there really are days where I wonder if I slipped into the world's dumbest alternate universe.

Not surprising in the least. Obviously, there are always going to be culture wars and things which seem exaggerated to the terminally online, but the way certain things about the anti-Woke 'crusade' seemed to pop up overnight always DID seem suspicious.
