It seems the protected bike‑lane markings were removed for construction, and without any markings the curb space has defaulted back to parking. (This is at Eastlake Ave E and Fairview Ave E.)

Do we really need to put all these signs on the bike lane and curb ramp?
We have 5 signs to warn drivers but the bike lane disappears with zero notice.

Unfortunately even backed in, it usually ends with the sidewalk blocked. This location has been pretty bad in term of parking.

If you dodge the sign and avoid the large chunk of concrete debris in the bike lane, you may finally enter a nicely protected bike lane…

It looks like this new style of bike‑lane plastic barrier may already be due for maintenance.

My shifter cable snapped, so the bike was stuck in the highest gear… even with the e‑bike, the ride from Chinatown to Green Lake turned into a full workout.
Big thanks to my LBS for fixing it super quickly!

Seattle pays millions to settle lawsuit by two bicyclists who crashed along streetcar rails

Hope you are OK. I thought SDOT was supposed to do something to make the area safer after the previous lawsuit : www.transittalent.com/articles/ind...

Is it just my eyes, or are the (illegal) license‑plate covers getting even more opaque? It’s nearly impossible to read the numbers, even from just a couple of feet away.

Thinking about how many extra cars were clogging school drop‑off this morning, I finally understand why Seattleites don’t bother with umbrellas, many people just switch to driving when it rains.

I just noticed the last 2 blocks of NE Ravenna blvd were completed recently. It’s definitely better, but it’s interesting to see the size of the unprotected gaps to accommodate for alley turning radius

I remember last time I asked SDOT to install wheel stops to protect a sidewalk next to a RapidRide stop, they suggested I contact the business owner myself…

Sometimes I don’t know whether to see the glass as half empty or half full. It is impressive that the β€œno parking on walkway” signs keep most of the 1,800‑foot stretch clear (only three cars parked on it), but at the same time… we still have three cars on it.

Sorry, I meant in the video: without those trucks parked in the middle lane, the megaphone driver probably would have tried to pass you dangerously and cut in front of you to get onto I‑5

It’s crazy how some drivers behave these days… The FedEx and USPS vans seem to provide some pretty effective traffic‑calming in this area

It’s crazy. Hope you’re OK. So they called 911 to report someone documenting their illegal behavior, it’s insane…

@seattledot.bsky.social @mayorofseattle.bsky.social @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social We voted to change the status quo. When something as unacceptable & avoidable as a pedestrian fatality occurs, we need immediate attention to find out why & action taken to improve safety. You can do this, & you must.

Driver turning right on red. I circled the traffic light that doesn’t show the restriction

Update: I noticed today the β€˜no turn on red’ sign is not very visible from the lane turning right and then ignored … I’ll make a FIFI request to move the sign to the traffic light on the right.

18.02.2026 07:33 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Completely agree it’s time to ban right turns on red, but also to enforce it. Quick video from today: in just 50 seconds, five drivers ignored the β€˜No Turn on Red,’ and the last one came in at full speed, noticing a pedestrian only at the very last moment.

I submitted several Find it Fix it reports for overgrown vegetation months ago, they were marked as closed as they are transferred to code compliance complaints but don’t show on the SDCI map…

Narrow sidewalks, overgrown vegetation, and a crosswalk almost always blocked by drivers shouldn’t be the default way to cross I‑5 in Wallingford

Official pictures of the bike lockers at Shoreline N 185th at station

Passing by the Shoreline N 185th Station, I noticed that 4 of the 8 lockers are pretty high up. I didn’t have time to stop and try them; do they have some kind of device to lift bikes? Otherwise, with more and more people riding e‑bikes, it seems pretty challenging to use the top lockers.
