Living in Finland is learning to appreciate contrast. Including weeks of no contrast.

A map of Helsinki's urban core. It shows which areas are in the shade on a clear day in mid-June. Hietaranta beach and Töölönlahti bay are highlighted with photos, since they are have some of the sunniest spots on the map.

I imagine that the moves could make an interesting visualization. Every starting move is a branch, and there are local minima if you have the same initial moves.

Daily player via tktk! I'm in an early timezone, so I sometimes get the high score in the morning, to be taken away later. It's ok if someone improves on my moves to get it, but that should maybe be an asterisk on the high score? eg, if it is not their first run.

We were just discussing a different related issue with "code diff" as the center of focus in a pull request. It's hard to convey the high level, and the person making the PR has the most context. We decided to try making a "handoff loom" (screen-capture and walk-through) for non-trival PRs.

I heard some Swedes borrow the Finnish "hän" (gender neutral) which is fun.
And Finns use "se" (it) for people in spoken language, which takes some getting used to.

How does EU naming regulation work? There isn't one word for "sausage" to ban on vegan products, does the regulation go into detail for every language? Are both vege "nakki" and "makkara" banned? Seems like big waste of time for everyone involved. Language is a living thing. (Sips oat latte.)
