I ran for office in Vasquez's current district; the least you could do is give me the time of day. Genuinely on-par with Steve Pearce.
Like, I get YOU'RE busy, but you DO have a staff, yeah? Talking points! Fuck's sake.

@heinrich.senate.gov Thanks for the fucking form-letter response this morning to my email the other day, which demonstrated beyond a shadow of a doubt that you did not read it--because you didn't address a single goddamn thing in it. Guess I'm calling your office tomorrow. Fucking Christ, man.
31.10.2025 04:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Itβs remarkable how frequently my one year of Russian in high school becomes important and usefulβand how the 20+ subsequent years of non-use have made it not quite but damn near useless
30.10.2025 06:36 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0But, for the more immediate future: Gonna eat, shower, shave, and probably pass out ASAP. Gotta be up to drive to tomorrow's class bright and fucking early yet again, so, I really do need all the sleep I can get. x_x
(Can't call in tomorrow night either--got a client I need to work with.)
Colombina's new enclosure is ALMOST ready for her to move in; I've been admittedly sidetracked by... you know, everything else happening this week. But we're close! I think I can move her in this weekend, actually. She's excited for it, too--keeps trying to climb through the glass into there.
30.10.2025 04:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0While I don't think all of them ate, most of them did, as evidenced by their newly-fattened abdomens. That's a big deal! It's tough feeding slings, so the fact that they all ate a BSFL, something I can continue to provide, means I *can* feed them. Which is exciting!
30.10.2025 04:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Re: the tarantulas, everyone's actually settling in surprisingly well! I'd fed all of them the other night--before the big re-housing last night--one black soldier fly larva each, save for the P. rufilata, the P. sp. 'Tononegro', the P. irminia, and the T. stirmi, who I'd fed a few days earlier.
30.10.2025 04:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I want to take that class; it'd, again, align pretty well with what I want to do going forward with CORAX. (Not that I want to make ads, but I'm gonna need to learn to market myself at SOME point.) But, I DEFINITELY do not have the time for it.
So, gonna ask that prof if he'll keep teaching it.
There's just one lingering item, one hanging chad.
One of the professors teaching the Media Entrepreneurship class I'm in right now, is offering another new class next semester--a class-based ad agency, to be run and operated entirely by the students in that class. Applications and all.
2D Rigging would conflict with my schedule, and again, I'm not adding additional courses unless I know they wouldn't be a time drain--and that one would be.
So, not taking Cinema Review, in lieu of 2D Rigging in the (likely near) future. That all works out and aligns with my goals in the program.
...fact is, I'd actually already strongly considered taking 2D Rigging, even when it was entirely elective.
While it's not EXACTLY the same, the principles are the same between 2D and 3D rigging, and if I want to make 3D games like I do, that's gonna be a CRITICAL skill to have.
Just, not NOW.
Apparently, Cinema Review and Critique has been dropped from the animation curriculum in the most recent Catalog--it's still required for Film majors, but not us. In its place, they've made 2D Rigging a requirement.
In my position, I could still grandfather in the former, and be good. However...
There's a section for that class that would be fully online, meeting on Wednesdays via Zoom; I've also already taken a cinema review course at Tech--Atomic Cinema--so I know what I'm doing, and know it wouldn't take much time. Figured I could fit it in.
But, Bakshi let me in on something.
Fact is, I could take all three--they all have TR schedules, and none conflict. But, I am being conservative with my time this go-round. I have learned I need to be.
Having said that... I WAS also considering taking a third class, Cinema Review and Critique. Also required. Also 3 credits.
...Ross Marks, the professor who's also the brains behind and head honcho of the Las Cruces International Film Festival. The course covers everything about the subject, from finding and procuring a script, to funding, to production, and even festivals and releases.
I'm choosing the latter.
--I'm taking a serious step back and reducing my load. I will only take one other course, and after going over my options, there are two clear choices:
Motion Graphics: Basically 2D Compositing and FX, part 2. Required.
Independent Filmmaking: What it says on the tin. Taught by...
All of that to say, my advisor this semester is the professor for Intermediate 2D, Eddie Bakshi, son of Ralph Bakshi. (Yes, that one.) Meeting was to discuss next semester's plans. Naturally, I'm re-taking Intermediate 2D with him, and after the fiasco that was the beginning of THIS semester--
30.10.2025 04:09 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Met with my advisor at NMSU yesterday morning--because CMI is a separate, admission-based program within NMSU, its advisor system is a bit different from the school's, in that it's similar to NMT's undergrad system where professors are advisors, except that changes as more are admitted.
30.10.2025 04:07 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Met with my advisor at NMT on Friday--I'd made progress, and I'm starting to put together the procedures necessary to continue that--which is also coincidentally laying the framework to continue and build up CORAX. The WORK on my MS is almost done--then I'll just need to finish the writing.
30.10.2025 04:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Okay so, I've not been posting a whole lot of the stuff I've wanted to, mostly because we've been exhausted--still are, haven't had more than five hours of sleep any given night this week due to all the dang meetings and appointments--but stuff DID get done, some things ARE happening.

Dang, weβre just under 90% emptied. Guess Iβm not making it to class after all.
Ah well, I did let my professors know that was likely. Just wouldβve been nice.
At the two-hour mark and weβre almost done; tech thinks weβll be done by the next check.
Itβs a little slower than Iβd expectedβespecially considering how fast it felt like it moved through meβbut still faster than normal. Thereβs a reason they stop at four hoursβthatβs typically how long it takes.
Itβs so weird sitting in the lab waiting room between these imaging checks, because they answer the phone with βRadiology,β and I keep thinking theyβre calling me back
29.10.2025 17:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβve said it before, Iβll say it again:
It did not βtake 1000 callsβ to convince these assholes to act.
It took one.
Because they already desperately wanted to do it.
They arenβt upset people are calling them outβor theyβd fucking stop.
Theyβre upset people are opposed to it.
The image shows four beers and four brians It says: Off work late hungry but too tired to cook try four beers four beers back to back to back to back for dinner no snacks no real food just four beers and then go to bed you will certainly not regret drinking four beers
I got done with work, drove home, changed and then immediately left the house with my wife to go play Bingo with the elderly (her choice of birthday party activity)
I didn't have time to eat, but I did have time to drink 6 or 7 beers over bingo
I pay for this today
But I won $77 at bingo
