The community dispersed across threads and instagram or some gave up on social media altogether. On twitter we used to have allergy hour, 8:30 to 9:30 on a Thursday evening. The only reason I still have a twitter account is because the schools use it as tool to communicate with parents

I have been using LinkedIn a lot more recently but it is a bit of an echo chamber in my profession, I find it difficult to get a dialogue going on there. Too much self congratulation. I have tried to get the food allergen community going again on here, but it is hard work.

Apologies for jumping in on the conversation, but the thing I mourn the most about the loss of twitter is the focused community groups, in my case, the food allergen community.It used to be a great leveler where researchers/HCPs could connect directly to those directly effected. all fractured now.

Vanderbilt developed a method to determine which regions of peanut protein bind to antibodies that trigger reactions. They then generated antibody variants that disrupted the process. This method could potentially be applied to other allergens. #foodallergies
