St. Paul City Council OKs 5.3% levy increase, $6.7M in budget changes For the median St. Paul home with a value of $289,000, the new levy will add an estimated $107 to property taxes next year, with wide variation from neighborhood to neighborhood, as well as between…

St. Paul City Council restored $6.7 million in planned spending cuts to Mayor Carter's 2026 budget plan. That saves parking enforcement, the Fire Department's overnight basic life support unit, normal hours at Arlington Hills Library and 20 other spending areas: www.twincities.com/2025/12/03/s...

Dear neighbor, I want to let you know that we are witnessing increased enforcement actions by agents in South Minneapolis. There continues to be reports of residents being followed while driving, stopped and taken away. 1/

Large mobile home park on edge of Twin Cities at center of affordability dispute A legal dispute raises allegations of a misinformation campaign and a conflict over the majority of the affordable housing in Corcoran.

One of the largest manufactured home parks in the Twin Cities area is stuck in limbo.

An out-of-state company purchased the community and raised lot rents, spurring a legal dispute over whether the park should still be held to an agreement that capped costs for tenants.

Disbelief follows St. Paul mayoral election as Carter loses to Her Residents across Frogtown and Midway react with disbelief after Melvin Carter loses the St. Paul mayoral election to Kaohly Vang Her in a tight ranked-choice race.

Also, he didn't campaign. And folks were saying "happy people don't write" when they might not write but that doesn't mean they will remember to vote, either.

I think this piece does a good job coloring that point in. spokesman-recorder.com/2025/11/15/s...

You don't lose half the city over a decision from years ago. You lose through a million little cuts whether it's the cyber attack, property taxes, department bloat, whatever. Not even saying he's to blame for it all, but he did unfortunately get to shoulder the blame for it all. That's the job.

Minimum parking requirements create financially insolvent land use patterns.

The two apartment buildings on the right generate six times more in property taxes than the big box store on the left, while occupying almost half the space!

St. Paul Police Federation
Statement Regarding the Recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement
Activity in St. Paul
ST PAUL POMOS
1947
Yesterday morning, federal agents executing a warrant were assaulted, threatened, and blocked by a violent mob. They called us for help. We responded only to protect lives and restore order - nothing more. We do not do immigration enforcement. Never have, never will.
A core of professional agitators refused every order, attacked officers with frozen bottles and rocks, damaged patrol cars, and shouted "Don't let them leave." Our officers, while being assaulted, used the absolute minimum force necessary to end the threat and get everyone home safe.
Not one rioter was seriously injured. Several officers were struck by projectiles, yet every one of them showed extraordinary discipline and courage.
This is not about politics.
This is about public safety.
We are not your adversary.
We are your police.
When the next mob comes, please stand with us - not against us.
Our community deserves nothing less.

He should be fired, and their equipment budget should be audited or clipped. There's no need for weapons of war or camouflage DoD hand-me-downs in this city.

It's almost like our police officers shouldn't have weapons and tools of war if their mission is to serve and protect.

SPPD has been successful because it leaned away from those things. It wasn't like MPD with police beatings and crowd agitation.

And here we are. Twin Cities, once again.

Honestly, you're right about St. Paul PD doing the right thing most of the time. There's a reason why they've had so much success in lowering the local crime rate.

But then why do they need this tactical gear. What purpose does it serve us? You don't need gear like that to solve a homicide.

You have the power to write their budget: take their tools away. They don't need training from foreign agencies, they don't need military equipment, and they don't need face masks.

Honestly, if they're not wearing a badge they shouldn't get paid. I couldn't get away with that at my job.

This isn't work that this White House has done in the last few days.

This is the result of the war on terror that has been waged since you and I were children watching 9/11 on in school tube TV's.

SPPD is wearing camouflage gear from the DoD. It's for war. And now the war is on us.

I wonder what the justification is for suppressors on their service weapons when they can't even wear their badges.

Meanwhile our shelter workers forgo masks because ICE ghouls wear them now.

They're cowards and will snatch our neighbors and little ones away until the America we loved is gone.

If you're able to make it, you should ask them why their service weapons have fancy suppressor cans on them when they can't even show their badges.
