Found some particularly photogenic shaggy manes yesterday. They are ink caps and will slowly disintegrate into a black goo. What blows my mind is that they are edible and I have friends who enjoy them. 🌿🍄‍🟫

Managed to get a half-decent video of Witching Hour in action. That big spot of green at the back of his head shows its violet sheen pretty clearly. A lot of the areas of the toy you perceive as purple are actually green but appear purple because of the shine color.

I don't know anything about this pink worm-like millipede other than its name (Rhinotus purpureus) and that is has a tiny head with two cute black ocelli (simple eyes). Under a log, in situ, Costa Rica, Jun 2025

An unusual mushroom with an unusual shape grows out of a collection of fir and pine needles. Its base is wide and thick, unlike a typical mushroom. Its top is wider and slightly lumpy but also relatively flat. Deep, dark red beads of liquid sit in various places around the top, contrasted by the top's white and slightly pink color. Tiny white teeth hang off of the base of the mushroom.

Hydnellum peckii is an unusual mushroom and is also one of my favorites to find
