I’ve never tried to take an e-bike inside a library, but then again I’ve never tried to take a standard bike inside a library. Feel free to pass my name on & happy to help (in confidence) if there’s a problem somewhere I’m not aware of. Most council staff experience bike store like this:

Main depot has covered secure car parking where you can also park your bike, no kind of ban in evidence.
Likely point of confusion is that I don’t think anyone has ever considered a need to take any type of bike, conventional or ⚡️ “indoors”. Feel free to quote me or follow up via council email.

Hi Mark, as a North Tyneside Councillor I regularly use e-bikes to get to Council meetings & sites. Have never had any issues & not sure it’s fair to single us out in this way. The main offices have covered locked bike stores located just a few metres outside of a main entrance - no ban.
