Vet is hoping he'll make it through the holidays, if the steroid treatment works for him and he's comfortable, that'll be my goal too. But if they don't, we're pretty much out of options for him. He's 18, so I knew this was eventually coming, but it's sad news.

Took Jack-Jack back to the vet today, we're pretty much just doing quality of life care for him at this point. They gave him some steroids, we're hoping it'll encourage him to eat and relieve the inflammation due to his arthritis. Hopefully he feels better.

#ArcRaiders is so different from day to day. Yesterday, a ton of people pretending to be friendly, then killing me. Today, a guy ran by and said, "I'm going to raid this locked room then kill some arc, who's with me?!" and five of us looted and killed a leaper together.

Listening to the playlist I made of some of my dad's favorite artists, and listening to some of these songs as an adult is wild. I used to sing these songs as an elementary aged kid having no idea what the lyrics meant. Some are tame by today's standards, but still...

I was playing #ArcRaiders, and I had a great interaction. Someone saw me with my free loadout struggling to kill an arc with my light ammo gun, said, "Hey raider, I have a present for you," dropped an epic shotgun with ammo at my feet and ran off into the night. Thank you, sir.

Had a follow up with the vet for Jack-Jack today. He's more animated than he has been, but still gets tired easily. Still not eating as much as he should, but they gave me saline to adminster to keep his fluids up. Here's hoping with the regular fluids, he keeps improving.

Jack-Jack is much more alert and actually ate some food tonight. It was mostly licking the gravy off his food, but I'll take any small victories. He's on antibiotics for 2 weeks and an appetite stimulant. And on Monday, we start subcutaneous fluids.

Better news than I was dreading, but I'm glad I was home instead of at the con so I could pick up his meds before they closed.

Heard back from the vet, Jack-Jack has an infection. His white blood count was very high, so they gave me antibiotics and an appetite stimulant to give him. He's also going to need subcutaneous fluids going forward, so I need to bring him in Monday so they show me how to do it.

He’s not out of the woods, but he has been drinking water which is an improvement from yesterday. He’s 18 years old and has some health issues, so it’s not surprising, but I don’t want to leave him home alone.

Was supposed to go to RI Comic Con today, but Jack-Jack got really sick yesterday. I took him to the vet, I was actually scared I was going to lose him. He’s better today, but I’m staying home to care for him. Bummed to miss out, but I love this boy more than anything.

I'm up to 21 rubber ducks in my Arc Raiders stash. I will have all the ducks!

Been having a lot of fun with ARC Raiders. I've found it's more fun solo, you find a lot more chill and fun people. Squads are too cutthroat for my taste. Don't know if you can tell which trinket I have the most of from the shelf behind my raider.

I took the heated blanket out of storage and washed it. I put it out on the couch and Jack-Jack only left it once today to eat something.

I miss Kramer. I had to make the difficult decision to put Kramer down a little over a year ago after a 4 year battle with lymphoma. He was my snuggly boy that loved to be held and cuddled. I miss him a lot.

My family sends out emails twice a year when we're planning our family parties which usually devolve into chaos. We found out today we've been including a woman from Canada that shares a name with our cousin instead of her for several years. She must think we're all crazy.

Took my sister’s dog out since I’m dog sitting. We have a nice walking/bike path near the house. Fall colors are starting to show finally.

I almost told a coworker "love you" when I was hanging up because that's how I always end calls with my mom. I said "Lov-" and stopped myself... then had to explain. Thankfully it was a peer and she laughed about it.

Today would have been my dad's 73rd birthday. He passed just over 4 years ago. I miss hearing his voice. Happy birthday, Dad.

It was very mean of my subconscious to do that to me this morning.

I had a dream this morning that when my alarm went off, it was actually during the time change, so it went off an hour early, and I was so happy to get another hour of sleep. So when my alarm went off for real, I was very disappointed that I didn't have another hour to sleep.
