Currently works for me.

My favorite is this one. They are all equally amazing though.

In other words, there is a meaningful correlation between MoCA scores and real world cognitive abilities (with some caveats) of a human but we don’t know if such correlation exists for an AI.

Fun comparison but I don’t think it is meaningful. MoCA score is only a β€œproxy” (and not a good one I should add) for cognitive abilities of a β€œhuman”, only because of the data we have on how it varies across healthy and impaired population. That an AI scores 25 tells me little about it.

There is a lot we can learn with one image! Check the channels separated
1 - Astrocytes being part of the blood-brain-barrier, look at this vessel shape!
2 - Red blood cells lacking nuclei can be very, very tiny!
3 - Some of the green cells inside the blood vessels are macrophages, not microglia!

Why probability probably doesn’t exist (but it is useful to act like it does) All of statistics and much of science depends on probability β€” an astonishing achievement, considering no one’s really sure what it is.

β€œProbability, indeed, can only rarely be said to β€˜exist’ at all”

I used to think that art and science are two disjoint disciplines until I came across @daniellebeckman.bsky.social’s work. Truly mesmerizing.

Speaking as a non-expert, I speculate that while MDD itself may have a biological construct that lends itself to being quantifiable by a biomarker, suicide attempt is probably a far more complex phenomenon affected by so many internal and external factors that is hard to control for.

A great example of reporting negative results, which is as important as positive ones.

I have received several messages like this lately on X, most definitely AI generated. Not sure what is the scheme behind it.

So everything is periodic except DC offset, a visually distinct rhythmic activity in time domain is associated with a peak in frequency domain. If there is no periodic component at say 15Hz, it just means 15 Hz component is not largely different than surrounding frequencies.

No, you are not alone! While periodic v. aperiodic distinction is a very useful approach in describing and characterization of PSDs, I agree that often we go too far into interpretation. Like this is all based on frequency decomposition of the signal.
