Uuuuugh, I'm sorry :( We deal with pain so incredibly poorly here and I'm sad to hear that you're suffering for it.
Muscle relaxants worked great for me when I was younger, but in recent years I might as well have been eating M&Ms. Hell, even the Tylenol was more effective.

It's remarkable that the national media is saying the takeaway from Talarico's win over Crockett is "Democrats are too far left" when the two of them are so ideologically similar.
It's almost as though "too far left" means "too Black."

I was forced to use an AI chatbot for 10 minutes at work. Since then I have been quite rude to AI evangelists at work.
I've only looked at AI output when someone shoves it under my nose or I accidentally use a search engine that does an AI search. Then I curse loudly and run away.

Mosquito Bucket Challenge - Homegrown National Park
Natural mosquito control: The Mosquito Bucket Challenge is a safe, affordable way to control mosquitoes without harming kids, pets, or pollinators.
Instead of spraying for mosquitos this summer, try the Mosquito Murder Bucket!
It's cheaper than paying a company and doesn't kill all of the beneficial insects in the area.

Y'know how sometimes your email software cuts off the subject line of a message in an awkward place? I just opened my email and my eye was caught by "Gamers defend ICE" and my brain went "I'MSORRYWTF?"
Full subject? "Gamers defend ICE detainee". Whew, that makes more sense.

It's a small thing, but our family in Israel probably won't be able to get here to celebrate Passover. I suppose it's possible, but it's highly unlikely. I'm not even sure when my youngest BIL, who was visiting, will make it home to NYC. All of this on Purim is...rough.

Given the context, this could easily be racism, classism, *and* sexism, plus the whole misoynoir thing. But yeah, when housing issues come up, classism becomes more likely. "Those" people might be Black or Hispanic or they might be "The Poors" or they might be ::gasp:: BOTH!!!!eleventy!!!

I think it's a pretty safe guess. Alas, guessing "racism" is usually correct. Although sometimes it's "classism" instead.

Person I previously respected: Just because it's being done by an immoral and unethical government doesn't mean it was bad to bomb Iran.
Me: Uh...yeah it does. That's kinda how that works. Also, it's *two* immoral and unethical governments. Just sayin'.

o_O I'd be thrilled if every federal agency immediately ceased using *any* LLM/genAI, but somehow I suspect that's not where this is going to go. Why do I feel like this is going to end up with the feds using less safe, less competent/coherent technology that somehow puts $$ in Trump's pocket?

It makes me googledebonkers that MS Outlook absolutely refuses to whitelist important email addresses or domains. No matter how many times I tell it to always give me email from jufj.org or my old friend, it ignores me. And important messages end up in junk or bulk mail, which is frustrating.

(I used to occasionally pick up the LaRouche paper on campus when I was in college and I needed a laugh. One time I picked it up right before taking my first dose of a muscle relaxant. A friend was sitting with me and I was reading bits of the paper aloud. It was apparently HILARIOUS.)
