Today, the NC General Assembly meets to vote on whether to override Governor Stein’s vetoes on several bills impacting rights, education, and public policy. So far, Republicans have secured support from House Democrats to override 8 of the vetoes, including stripping NC’s renewable energy mandate.

If Governor Roy Cooper heads to the Senate, reproductive freedom gets a real ally in Washington. In NC, Cooper vetoed anti-abortion legislation, called out lawmakers for putting politics over patients, and stood firm for bodily autonomy — even when outnumbered.
