Every thought you have doesn't belong on the Internet.
Most thoughts you have don't belong on the Internet.
Every instance of "AI democratizes the arts, you're classist and ableist and a gatekeeper for trying to stop it" is a slap in the face to the literally centuries of poor, disabled people making art on the margins and a crass lie in service of a machine that strips down and regurgitates dreams

Every time I talk to someone outside of Minnesota, we always spend time on *really* basic things they have donβt understand about what is happening here.
So letβs do a Q&A. What are your most basic questions about whatβs going on in Minnesota?
Screenshot of an X.com post by The Associated Press (@AP) stating that dozens of immigrant families protested for better treatment behind fences at a Texas detention facility, where a 5-year-old Ecuadorian boy and his father were sent after being detained in Minnesota. Below is a video thumbnail showing a crowd gathered outdoors along a fenced walkway; many people wear bright blue or red outerwear, and some hold signs.
After being held in two of them as a boy, I fought for decades urging America to never again build concentration camps and put human beings in them. It breaks my heart to watch this happen twice now in my own lifetime.

Somebody on our enormous #TwinCitiesGeeks Facebook group pointed out how the group spontaneously switched to "Rebellion mode" as if the 30,000+ members had been watching Star Wars their entire lives.
Well, yeah.
It should specifically say appliance grade.
The thick orange cords and such are not the same thing.
You can get an appliance-grade extension cord at the hardware store. They're more expensive than regular extension cords because they can carry a higher load.
22.01.2026 19:59 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I would argue that the case for dismantling ICE has, at this point, virtually nothing to do with larger questions of immigration enforcement and reform, it's just clearly incompatible with a free and democratic society to maintain a secret police force with sweeping and arbitrary authority.

βWhy am i (a sex shop employee) doing more for people in Minneapolis than a Jacob Frey?!β
Gold
Minnesota is "your skin will freeze and die" cold right now, and apparently ICE is just dumping beaten detainees out in the woods around the Whipple Building. Journalists are working on confirming these reports, but these stories are coming from local medical workers.

Ben Luhmann, who filmed this, is one of the two high schoolers from a conservative Christian family I rode along with in Chicago when they were searching for ICE agents there.
When I asked him how his faith informed his efforts to document ICE/DHS, he told me this. religionnews.com/2025/11/25/h...
Nasra Ahmed, a 23-year-old US citizen, was arrested and detained by ICE. She was held for TWO DAYS.
ICE agents handcuffed her, called her a racial slur, and she was knocked to the ground so hard she got a concussion.
This cannot continue happening. ICE needs to leave.
Klobuchar, in particular, is absolutely begging for any remotely plausible challenger who is willing to express the anger Minnesotans are currently feeling. Iβm over the border now, but I can feel the towering rage like a bonfire on an icy lake
22.01.2026 03:48 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 3 π 0After the last couple of weeks, any Democrat who isnβt willing to say that ICE needs to be disbanded is going to be EXTREMELY vulnerable to a primary this year. There are a LOT of electeds who are light years behind their constituents right now.

We asked 10 Minnesota residents to tell us about life under ICE occupation.
Read their stories, and put yourself in their shoes. We may all find ourselves experiencing what they are, whatever the city or personal circumstance, before too long.

Pickle Rick is a pal of mine. He's a regular geek convention attendee in #Minnesota and Pickle Rick is one of his cosplays. He's interested in leveraging being the daily show "MN Pickle Rick" to maybe try to get a podcast/vidcast recorded with info for people who wanna protest.

On this Daily Show segment, there is a guy at a #Minneapolis protest cosplaying Pickle Rick. He's featured in the last part.

Can I get notified when they find the Oak Island treasure but not have to hear about it until then?

During difficult times it's important to take a break & recharge your batteries
If that looks like dancing, enjoying art, or learning something new in good company, I rounded up some events at TCG that might fit the bill
And if you're staying home for safety, plenty of them are virtual too
