And I tend to think "concern" about the wellbeing of Albertans in a sovereign Alberta is far less an issue for Cdns (like youself) than the dark reckoning that without Alberta, the wealth, prosperity and viability of Canada would be in peril.

Certainly none with Alberta's natural resource wealth.

Further, Canada could not legally landlock AB. Under international law (see UNCLOS part 10) landlocked states have equal right of access to sea through neighboring states.

Alberta is effectively already landlocked from accessing tidewater while a "valued and respected equal partner" in Confederation. An independent Alberta, however, would effectively landlock BC and act a barrier for the transiting of goods from the Pacific to Central Canada.
