There were 4 corn buntings with a fieldfare flock in this tree on the cycle track at Naburn late morning. Also flock of linnets & goldfinches, plus 2 greenfinches, at least 6 yellowhammers, 2 reed buntings & a goldcrest.
Little egret on Bish Ings + red kite near Brunswick.

Had a good hour at North Cave Wetlands this afternoon, with the black-crowned night heron still at Far Lake, and nice views of greenshank and water rail on Island Lake @northcavebirds.bsky.social @yorkswildlife.bsky.social

Today the American wigeon near East Cottingwith was much more obliging (and actually there, which helped). Pic taken at around 2.20pm today.

American wigeon wasn't at the pond off Langrickegate Road at 4.40pm today (or at 5.30 on my way back). Tried the Refuge from East Cottingwith - not there either but 10 whooper swans and more black-tailed godwits than I could count. @yorkbirding.bsky.social @birdguides.bsky.social

Some were ringed but couldn't get a close enough view through my scope to read anything.

@birdguides.bsky.social @teesbirds.bsky.social Big flock of twite down at Seaton Snook - I'm no good at counting birds in flocks but would estimate anywhere between 50.and 100 on the marah
