So, so instructive to compare media response to Afghanistan withdrawal -- months of hysterical garment-rending & catastrophizing, relentless criticism of the admin -- with the response to an unprovoked, unmotivated, illegal war of aggression, ie, "some critics say maybe Trump should have reasons."

11 US troops were killed when Biden ordered they *leave* Afghanistan, and the most of the US media didn't stop blaming it him for three years. It was pretty much Biden's Vietnam.

Trump *starts* a war and within a day, 3 are dead, he casually says "there will be more" --and it's "U-S-A! U-S-A!"

But see, Trump talks to them on the phone for 3 minutes, saying nothing of substance but making them feel important and letting them yell, "Exclusive!" ... so 99% of the time, his gaffes are overlooked. And when they're not-- say, the 'Obamas are apes' video--they move on in 36 hours, tops.

For sure-- in primetime, they lean left, and also, with special coverage when Rachel and the prime anchors come in. Rest of the day? They're not leaning into their base, unlike Fox News, which leans right 24/7.

Honestly had no idea the Survivor 50 premiere was a three-hour episode (on TV; about 2 hours with ads.) I had considered watching the show again for the first time in 15+ years, but with that sort of obvious padding in episodes? Yikes. I might still watch, but feels like work...

Seeing a reality show challenge in real time, absent editing and music, is just wild. I was on set of Big Brother very early in run, but I just peered in on the HGs, and didn't see a challenge (which wasn't a big deal given live feeds.) But seen this way, it looks so... small.
