A whole bunch of holiday titles are coming to Netflix in November. Everything from Lifetime, ABC and Reel One titles, to old Freeform originals like GHOSTING THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS and NO SLEEP 'TIL CHRISTMAS.

Scott Pelley got a big scoop with the Trump DOJ whistleblower that almost surely was going to be the top story on 60 Minutes this week. But per the NYT, Bari Weiss personally booked Jared Kushner on 60–letting him take a victory lap for the Gaza deal. Pelley’s story was pushed to second position.

The “sane-washing” is for the news media

I would note that this disdain points in one direction. These legacy media outlets have been quick to cover and hype tea party protests, anti-mask/anti-vax protests, and countless other examples of what they call “real Americans” engaging in protest.

For sure some of the legacy media outlets are downplaying the protests because they’re aligned with Trump, but I think an even bigger factor is how many elite journalists have a patrician disdain for the idea that politics can happen in the streets and not just the CNN green room.

Wire = AFP, no? (But either way, yeah, it was not given high priority at all, which is stunning)

Minimizing size? ✅

“Both sides” bases covered by giving baseless GOP framing equal weight? ✅

No byline indicating CBS used wire copy and interns to cobble story together? ✅

Network of Murrow? ❌
