You are not the only one. The Labour strategy circa 2024-2029 will be studied in polisci classes for decades to come as the canonical model of how to fuck yourself up from a position of strength*.
*provided that REF UK didn't take over and abolish all universities.

And the fact that it is obviously pandering and political just means that nobody believe them. The right thinks they are BS-ing, the left is just going to keep voting alternatives to punish them until they stop.

A 2023 tweet:
every european election
The Peopleβs Democrats (center-right) 31 per cent
Soviet Workerβs Party (center/center-left) 22 per cent
Citizenβs Forum (fascist) 19%
Wow! (Center) 11 per cent
Friendship is Magic (left) - nine per cent
Green Partt - eight per cent
This remains a good, tongue in cheek guide, though the centre-right is doing worse across the board than it was then, while the Greens are taking the βFriendship is Magicβ vote in addition to their traditional core.

The Green victory in Denton is the result which will have the biggest effect on Labour, far more so than a Reform win.
The blithe assumption progressives have nowhere else to go has been proved catastrophically wrong.
Canβt help thinking of this quote from a Labour minister, a year agoβ¦

Maybe Labour should keep trying to punch the progressives even more ? If they can win some more REF UK votes they might overhaul the Greens I think.

Producing is not learning.
The problem is that academia has designed itself to teach by making students produce

A rice cooker is basically an electric heater which shuts itself off automatically when all the water become steam. So you can use it for other stuff: we use it to steam and also hot pot.

Oh they wonβt have a legal claim. They however can complain to the university who would then come get us. This is my point : being technically correct does not excuse the students from their actions or consequences of their actions

I understand that because of this lawsuit the next time a crisis hits the universities will 1. Flog us harder so they donβt get sued and 2. Academics will feel a lot less inclined to work beyond their means (and yes we did) because of that

The students claiming uni Covid compensation 'for the principle'
Dozens of universities have received legal letters over what students say they missed out on during Covid.
This is causing despair in academe. (1) We were forced to close during Covid. We had no choice! (2) We're not service providers like a restaurant, we are institutions of state. (3) We did everything we could. (4) This will cripple current students' education.
