Due to a minor medical issue earlier today, Randy was unable to perform at the Canada Day National Evening Show today.

He is under a doctor’s care and is doing well, but out of an abundance of caution, he needs to rest and take care of himself.

Robbie and Fred wrote the song as a 12 bar blues progression first. I thought it was great but needed standout moments to give it punch, like a call and answer guitar line. My contribution was influenced by Edgar Winter Group's "Free Ride" and Heart's "Crazy on you".

Hi Giovis, Because we were big, no-nonsense type guys, we had a good following of working class people after "Let it Ride" and "Takin' Care of Business".

The man at the station said I could buy it if I wanted to but couldn't really understand why. With help, I dried it out and had someone add hardware to make it into a chandelier for my office, because it had meaning for me.

As it turned out, it was a form used to make a mould for pouring metal gears from a lumber mill in Chilliwack. B.C. Years later, I was thinking about it one day and went back to the field (I lived pretty close) and it was still there.

Hans, the photographer said to me, "move over, I'm trying to get natural sun in the shot." As I did, I tripped on the something in the grass and stumbled. It was a giant wooden gear. It was about 8 feet tall.

Yes! We were getting our picture taken in front of Mushroom Studios in Vancouver and right beside it was a field of grass with a gas station at the foot of the hill. We were standing there and it looked like the prairies which is rare in Vancouver.

BTO's symbol was a gear. Fans were called gear heads. The cover of "Not Fragile" was a box of gears. Fan question: Is the gear logo of Bachman Turner Overdrive a real mechanism from a machine?

Dad came from proud German stock. He asked what I was changing it to and I said Mann, I was going to be Randy Mann. He said, "Interesting. But where are you going to live?" 😉

My dad was the hardest working guy I've ever known. I learned my work ethic from him. He was very no-nonsense. One day as a teenager, I walked in and announced I was changing my last name to something "cooler".

We lost one of the greatest composers and messengers who took jazz harmony, put it to a Chuck Berry beat, and made a new genre of music. Some of the best singles in the world. Dennis, Carl, and Brian are all together now. Other worlds to sing in. #RIP #BrianWilson The Beach Boys

I remember when Brian decided to not go on the road anymore but continued to write incredible music. They were like family. When Carl passed it was like losing a brother and it feels the same today. They are still going today with their incredible legacy with Bruce Johnston and Mike Love.
