The asymmetry of the value placed on human life is so striking. Israel has a goal to recover 40-year-old remains; to do so, it invades a sovereign country, and the lives of 26 Lebanese are an afterthought. Their names not even worth printing in the New York Times.

Too often, activists are more focused on sorting people into categories of good and bad than on how people actually change their minds, beliefs, politics, and actions. Personally, I think this comes from a defeatist mindset. But people can and do change. So, how does that happen? Audio + transcript:

Jonathan Karl: Pres Trump told me tonight the US had identified possible candidates to take over Iran, but they were killed in the initial attack. "The attack was so successful it knocked out most of the candidates," Trump told me. "It's not going to be anybody that we were thinking of because they are all dead. Second or third place is dead."

It's very easy for me to relate to that last repost, as I likewise hate the regime I live under, and would like to see it fall, but also don't want to be bombed. Seems straightforward as hell to me.

Thousands of MN families are at risk of eviction because of the ICE occupation’s lasting impacts. We can keep them housed.

This episode was both (1) very scary, and (2) a refusal to wallow in that scariness, instead centering agency, resistance and possibility - pointing both to historical struggles against similar regimes and concrete, practical actions we can take.
